This estimate is for centrifugal pumps and fans — that is where a drive's energy savings are real. On constant-torque loads such as conveyors or compressors, a drive's benefit is control and soft starting, not energy.

Assumptions and method
  • Affinity law for centrifugal pumps/fans: power ≈ the cube of speed (P ∝ N³).
  • A 3% floor is added for motor and drive losses — the result stays conservative.
  • With throttling, power stays high even as flow drops (energy is wasted as heat at the valve).
  • CO₂: 0.44 kg/kWh (Turkish grid average, approximate).
  • On systems with high static head (lift), real savings may be lower.
